Q How do I register with you? A Simply send your CV via fax, post or email and we will respond to you by telephone if there is an immediate opportunity. You will always receive an e-mail confirming that your CV has been received even if a suitable opportunity is not currently available.
Q Will I have to pay you to find me a job? A No The service, all advice and counselling we offer is free to our candidates.
Q Will my current employer find out I am looking for a new job? A No. Our dealings with you are entirely confidential. We discuss any relevant opportunities with you before sending your CV forward to any potential employers.
Q What type of jobs do you deal with? A Our clients contact us about all types of positions within the field of IT, both for contract and permanent vacancies. The positions range from junior helpdesk and support positions, through the development lifecycle to IT project and programme management, in all industry sectors - Utilities, Defence, Banks & Building Societies, Financial Services, Local Government, NHS Trusts, Police, Central Government Departments, Manufacturing, Consultancy, Business Process Outsourcers, Telecomms etc
Q What happens once I have sent my CV in response to an advert (permanent or contract)? A The procedure is straightforward. A recruitment consultant will contact you by telephone at a time that is convenient for you. They will discuss with you the relevant vacancy and establish how well it is matched to your aspirations, qualifications, skill set You may also be asked to complete an on line technical test or attend our offices for an informal interview in order to progress with your application. Your CV is then forwarded to the customer and interviews are arranged as appropriate. All contractors are asked to provide references at this stage. Our recruitment team will ensure that you are prepared for each stage of the job application process.
Q Can you contact me after work? A Yes, our offices are open from 09:00 to 17:30 hrs from Monday to Thursday and 09:00 to 17:00 hrs on Fridays. Appointments can be made after these times or over the weekend if necessary.
Q Will you contact me at work? A We understand the sensitivity of taking phone calls at work. Initially we will contact you at home or on your mobile phone and after the initial consultation we will take instructions from you. Q Can you give me help with my interview technique? A Yes, all of our consultants are fully trained in counselling candidates though the recruitment process and examples of common interview questions and answers are available on this web site.

Q How long does it take for you to respond with CV's? The time it takes to present CV's will vary from client to client and depends upon the level of filtering activity you require. Typically the average response times for permanent vacancies is 2 days and contract opportunity responses may be less than 1 hour.
Q How do you charge for the introduction of permanent staff? A The introduction fee applied is calculated as a percentage of basic salary. The numeric % value varies in line with the level of service required. Discounts are awarded to those clients who use Omnium on a preferential basis. Additional discounts are awarded for volume usage. Please contact us for a full copy of our standard terms of business
Q What happens if they leave after we have paid our fee? A Omniums generous rebate structure covers the initial 12 week period from the candidates start date. The rebate structure will form part of your contract with Omnium and will be discussed at the onset of the relationship.
Q Can you guarantee the technical skills of candidates? A All Omnium contractors are reference checked. In addition Omnium has the facility to technically test both permanent and contract candidates on line providing a fast and efficient method of objectively measuring their ability.
Q What does hiring a contractor involve? How do we pay? A Hiring contractors is an attractive option for clients when they have short-term projects requiring specialist skills, or need additional resources to meet a project deadline. Omnium will invoice you on a weekly or monthly basis for the service delivered. You don't have to worry about NI, holiday pay,sick pay or pension contributions as there is no contract of employment.
Q How are your contractors vetted? A All contractors provided by Omnium IT are reference checked. On line testing can also be used to technically test the candidates before an interview is conducted.
Q How can you guarantee the contractors technical skills? A Omnium has up to 194 on line technical tests available to objectively test the skill level of any contractors.
