Are you sure you're reading the correct emphasis on the advert? I see your point. However, the client pays a premium to the agency to provide a service. The premuim is very high indeed (My last agency was paid £72,000 to secure me) for the amount of work involved, and they justifiably expect you to be able to find them the right candidates given a poor qualty specification. Sounds to me like they actually want a Solution Architect, rather than a developer – and you can be sure that the budget doesn’t stretch to 2 positions. As long as you are realisitic with us the contractors and dont, in turn, over - egg the situation, then our expectations or even hopes arent raised too much, only to be dashed. We are after all facing one hell of a double dip recession out there. The second thing to do is to pick a Saturday and hold a party in beautiful downtown Fezzy Park, and invite loads of us contractors. It neednt cost a fortune - we could probably manage a few bottles of wine ourselves - and you could provide a few sausages or oatcakes or crisps. But it does mean that we could meet you all and relax a bit and generally socialise... Remember to leave a bit of parking space for those on contracts to park their Ferraris. Just a suggestion... I would like to actually meet the people they hire for these positions. They must be as you said "Super humans" with very little brain power when it comes to the wage side of it. Seems that the time has come to set down standards of what company,s actually want. Get two people who specialise in their own areas instead of trying to keep costs down by using one person to do all. Maybe your team could reject any posting that seems over the top, unless the company can verify the need for someone with multiple talents.
